A Windy Day at Virgin Creek

Yesterday was really windy! Late in the day I was being a turd in front of the computer at the office and decided to do something different: I went to Virgin Creek and took some photos. The quality of light was really amazing - very rich. The wind is only vaguely visible in the photos, but it was cold and, at one point, I found myself leaning back in to it accompanied by thoughts of Chicago. It was blowing all sorts of sea foam up on to the camera lens, as well, so as the photos go on, even though I put the lens cap on whenever I wasn't snapping, you can start to see a bit of distortion from it. In fact, because my glasses don't have a lens cap, I ended up barely being able to see once I got back in my car. Toward the end of the session my hands were FREEZING and I couldn't tell if something looked good anymore so I would slide my glasses down my nose and, sure enough, it was gorgeous :) I was using the office's Nikon D80 with a wide angle lens - my current favorite. The zoom is awesome, if needed, and when you pull back out, that lens takes in a great amount - nothing left out. It takes photos quickly, as well, so I usually take 3 or 4 in a row. My favorite part is the very end (there are three hundred-some-odd photos) with the driftwood chair someone had made. I wasn't paying attention to what the camera was focusing on and it started with the chair. As I panned up with the camera, it began to focus on the beach in the background. Each photo is nice, but the sequence is wonderful! The coolest thing about this gallery is that I didn't delete or remove a single photo. They're all there, straight from the memory card, in the order I took them. So tell me what you think!
